I wanted to give the children an individual benchmark for how much they could do in one minute. First, we made predictions about how many times we could write our name, bounce a ball, or how many cubes we could connect in one minute.
As good little scientists, we made sure to check our predictions against the data.
We learned that just because the unit of time was the same in each case, this doesn't mean that we could do the same number of different activities in one minute.
