Horizon Sendai Primary School 2017-2018

We have been studying poetry. We did some brainstorming as preparation for writing poems of our own.  Everyone was eager to contribute.  We certainly had some wild and wacky ideas. This was a unit on poetry. Our learning objectives included identifying rhyming words and the repetition and patterns in the poems that we studied.We also read some poems to our classmates. Before our spelling tests, we had some time to preview our sight words.                              

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...  It snowed a lot for the past few days and we, year 1 classes did not miss this chance out. Per our weekly learning objectives, we went to the schoolyard to play in the snow and feel the snow. Before starting our journey, we have talked about precautions we need to take when playing in the snow, and things we wanted to build. As a class, we have agreed to make a snowman and if we could we would build even an igloo. Making Stories Students have been creating their own stories in English class. Students first made a draft of their story outlining the beginning, middle, and end. Then students created books with illustrations. In our last class of the unit we read our books to the class.  Students enjoyed reading their stories to the class and we all enjoyed listening to them. Thank you Primary English students for your creative stories!

　国語では、「むかしばなしをたのしもう」でいろいろな昔話にふれたあと、「おはなしをつくろう」の学習に取り組んでいます。 　まずは、「ももたろう」のお話をもとに、 　　　「（　　　　）から生まれた（　　　　　）」 　という主人公を考えて、簡単なお話を考えました。いちごから生まれたいちごたろう、かぼちゃから生まれたかぼくんなど、みんなで思い思いの主人公を生み出していました。その後、今までに読んだり聞いたりしたことのある昔話をもとに、自由に物語を作る活動をしています。動物がしゃべったり道具が動いたり、と自由な発想を生かせる昔話の世界で、子どもたちは楽しみながら、想像したことを文章に表す学習に取り組んでいます。 ノートに書いたメモをもとに、内容を膨らませていきます。 どんなお話が出来上がるか楽しみです。

➗In Math class, we have finished unit about "Comparing Sizes". In this unit, we have learned to compare different lengths using a measuring tape and make a simple chart to show collected information. Also, we have covered a section about areas and kids developed an understanding of large and small things.  Finally, we have finished unit by looking at "comparing amount of water" section where the kids learned which containers can hold more and which can hold less. All of the sections were supported by hands-on activities as shown in the pictures below.  Learners are measuring the lengths of different objects found in the classroom.    Students are learning estimating skills.    Comparing the Amount of Water   Comparing Area and Volume  The End

２年生では、週１回、新聞記事を読んで自分の考えを書く宿題があります。自分の思ったことを簡単に書く、自分が経験したことを書く、記事に書いてあることに賛成か反対か等、段階を追って学習をしています。 　自分の考えがしっかり書けている児童を紹介します。 2017年8月6日　河北新報 わたしも、このみかんジュースをのんでみたいです。ホライゾンにもおもしろいところがあったら、この記事みたいに新聞にのって読んだ人たちが「ここに行きたい」と思ってくれたら、お友だちがふえてうれしいです。 空こうは、いっぱい人がくるところです。そんなところで、じゃ口からみかんジュースを出すなんて、考えた人はすごいと思いました。わたしの考えですが、こんど夏げんていで、みかんフラッペを出してほしいです。夏のときにぴったりだと思います。 日本語のしらべ・・・・「雪」                                            ことばあそび・・・一人ひとり自分で考えました

「よい音で」「みんな仲良く」「思いをとどけよう」 音楽を楽しもう！ ♪　 「きしゃは　はしる」 　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　 　　　　　 　　　　ー教育出版「音楽のおくりもの　2」(P44~45)よりー 汽車の走るリズムの軽快感と速度の変化のおもしろさを感じ取る曲です。 「きしゃは　はしる」をお聴きください。 　合唱、鍵盤楽器、木琴、打楽器の演奏をグループで分かれて、 速さの変化を楽しみながら 演奏しました。    楽器の音の出し方を試したり、声の出し方を自分で考えながら練習しました。 ♪「こぎつね」 　                                                                                          ー教育出版「音楽のおくりもの　2」(P42~43 )よりー 秋から 冬にかけて、こぎつねの気持ちが少しずつ変化していく様子を表した曲です。 「こぎつね」をお聴きください。 合唱、鍵盤楽器、木琴、鉄琴、打楽器の演奏をグループで分かれて演奏しました。  歌は身振りも付けながら、楽器とリズムを合わせました。 打楽器で中心になるリズムを打って合わせました。                                鍵盤ハーモニカの指使いを繰り返して練習しました。 ♪　 12月1日　学芸会での全員合唱　「U & I」 斉唱、少人数唱、韓国語唱、音読を織り交ぜながら、心を合わせて表現しました。 　　　　　　　　 　　　　　　　　　　　  

　 （国語）冬休みの思い出をみんなに伝えよう  　宿題の作文をみんなで読み、聞き合いました。出かけたところ、年末年始の行事など、ご家庭なりの思い出を紹介し合いました。 　読み合った後の質問には、聞きたいことがみんなから集まっていました。 自分の家での出来事と照らし合わせて聞く様子が、微笑ましかったです。 　 自分から読みたい友達のところに行って聞きました。                                  1月の集会での発表 　 1/9（火）　3学期初日 　冬休みの思い出について、日本語で紹介しました。 1/17（水） 　今年挑戦してみたいことについて、英語で紹介しました。 （この日は、インフルエンザで欠席する児童が増えてきたため、放送で発表を行いました。）
